Terms and Conditions
Introduction
Effective Date: 10/08/2025
Welcome to buddsherbalmedicine.com (“we”, “us”, or “our”). These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of our website and the products available through it. Please read these Terms carefully before using our website or placing any orders.
Budd’s Herbal Medicine is the trading name for our online store, while Budd’s Herbal Apothecary refers to our physical retail shop. Both operate under the same legal business entity and are subject to these Terms of Service. Whether you shop online or in person, you are dealing with the same company.
Please note that consultations related to herbal medicine are offered through a separate business entity. However, these consultations are governed by the same Terms of Service as our online and in-store products.
By using our site or booking consultations, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms.
1. About Us
Budd’s Herbal Medicine is a UK-based provider of natural, plant-based wellness solutions. We specialise in offering a curated range of herbal products, traditional remedies, and educational resources designed to support holistic health and well-being.
Our mission is to promote the safe and informed use of herbs in everyday life, blending traditional herbal knowledge with modern wellness practices.
We produce some of our products in-house and also carefully source from trusted third-party suppliers, herbalists, and manufacturers who share our commitment to quality, sustainability, and ethical practices. Every product we stock is reviewed to ensure it meets our internal standards for safety, effectiveness, and integrity.
Whether you’re just beginning your herbal journey or looking to deepen it, Budd’s Herbal Medicine is here to support your path to natural well-being.
2. Website Usage
You agree to use our website only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of, restrict, or inhibit anyone else’s use and enjoyment of the site. You must not misuse the site by introducing viruses, attempting to gain unauthorised access, or otherwise harming its functionality or security.
To place an order or make a purchase through our website, you must be at least 18 years of age and legally capable of entering into a binding contract.
If you are under the age of 18, you may only use this website or place an order with the knowledge and explicit consent of a parent or legal guardian. By using our services, you confirm that you either:
- Are 18 years or older, or
- Are using the website with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf.
We reserve the right to cancel any orders or restrict access if we believe these conditions are not met.
3. Health Disclaimer
The content provided on this website, including but not limited to text, images, product descriptions, and any linked resources, is intended for informational and educational purposes only. It is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
While we are passionate about herbal medicine and natural wellness, we are not licensed medical professionals. Our products and content are not designed to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, and should not be relied upon as medical advice.
You should always:
- Consult with your GP, pharmacist, or qualified healthcare provider before using any herbal products, especially if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication, undergoing treatment, or have any existing health conditions.
- Be aware that herbal remedies can interact with prescription medications or may not be suitable for certain individuals.
- Use products as directed, and never exceed the recommended dosage.
Although some of the herbs and ingredients featured on this website have a long history of traditional use, their effectiveness and safety may not have been evaluated by regulatory authorities such as the UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) or the Food Standards Agency (FSA).
All customers are responsible for conducting their own research and consulting qualified professionals where needed. Use of our products and services is at your own risk.
If you experience any adverse reaction to any product purchased from us, discontinue use immediately and consult a medical professional.
4. Payments
We prioritise the security and privacy of your payment information. All payments made through our website, in person at our shop, or over the phone are processed using Tyl by NatWest, a reputable and trusted UK-based payment processor.
When you complete a purchase with us, your payment details are handled through Tyl’s secure payment gateway. This ensures that your sensitive card information is encrypted and protected throughout the transaction process. We do not store any of your payment card details on our servers, reducing the risk of unauthorised access or data breaches.
To further enhance security and reduce fraud, 3D Secure authentication is integrated into Tyl’s payment processing system. This additional verification step helps confirm the identity of the cardholder and lowers the risk of fraudulent transactions and chargebacks.
Payments must be authorised successfully for an order to be processed. If your payment is declined or unsuccessful for any reason, the order will not be completed, and you will be notified accordingly.
5. Consultation Services
We offer herbal health consultations provided independently by Wendy Budd, separate from Budd’s Herbal Medicine product sales.
Consultations can be conveniently booked online through our website using the AmeliaWP booking system, which helps manage appointments efficiently. By default, consultations are conducted in person at Budd’s Herbal Apothecary, located in Portsmouth, Southsea, PO5 2SN. However, if you prefer, remote consultations via video call or telephone are also available upon request. Please indicate your preferred consultation format when booking.
For initial consultations, which typically last one hour, a deposit of £45 is required at the time of booking, though you also have the option to pay the full £90 upfront if you wish. Follow-up sessions generally last 45 minutes and cost £45, with the choice to pay the full amount at booking but no obligation to do so. After booking and payment are processed, you will receive a confirmation email containing all the details of your appointment.
If you choose to book your consultation over the phone, we may take payment for the deposit over the phone at the time of booking, if required.
Wendy is a Registered Medical Herbalist (RMH), accredited by the National Institute of Medical Herbalists (NIMH), a recognised professional body in the UK. This qualification reflects her formal training, adherence to professional standards, and dedication to safe and ethical practice. While Wendy’s expertise as a licensed herbalist ensures professional and knowledgeable consultations, please note that these sessions are intended for informational and educational purposes only. They are not a substitute for professional medical diagnosis, advice, or treatment.
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please contact us at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled consultation. Cancellations made with at least 24 hours’ notice will be eligible for a full refund of any deposit or payment made, or can be rescheduled without penalty. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may not be eligible for a refund.
By booking a consultation, you acknowledge and accept that the herbal advice provided does not replace medical care and that you remain responsible for consulting your healthcare provider regarding any health concerns.
Please note that individuals under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a legal parent/guardian at consultations.
